Continuing Education (2020): a devised music theatre piece exploring the journey of non-traditional students in higher education. Developed and presented at UCSD winterWORKS.
Real Kid (2017): an original adaptation of Pinocchio developed in collaboration with Barn Arts. Presented at the Criterion Theatre in Bar Harbor, Maine, and at the 2017 Bird Theatre Festival in Tottori, Japan.
Children on a Country Road (2015): a original music theatre adaptation of the Kafka short story. Presented at Cloud City in Brooklyn. Original score by Andrew Lynch.
Vestige (2014): an original folk opera developed with Columbia University, Columbia Stages ,and the Musical Theatre Factory. Presented at Cloud City in Brooklyn. Directed by Eric Holm.
Paper Plane (2012): a folk musical performed live via loop pedal, about a young boy in the American midwest during the Great Depression. Like millions of other young people, he rides the rails in search of his dreams. Developed and presented at One Arm Red (2012), presented at the New York Fringe Festival (2012), where it was named a Time Out New York Critics’ Pick. Featuring Jonas Goslow, John Egan, Elizabeth Stahlmann, Katie Melby, and Andrew Lynch. Directed by Katie Melby and Eric Holm. Lighting Design by Poe. Text by Nick Ryan. Uncanny Valley (2010): an original music theatre piece developed through Red Eye New Works and presented at Ars Nova’s ANT Fest. Featuring Katie Melby and Andrew Lynch.
The Traveling Musicians (2009): a theatrical rock show inspired by the Grimm Brother’s Fairy Tale of the Musicians of Brementown. It’s the story of a one animal glam rock band’s rise to stardom, their ridiculous fall from grace, and their eventual redemption. Voted Outstanding Musical at the 2011 Minnesota Fringe Festival. Featuring Katie Hartman, Katie Melby, Andrew Lynch, and a rotating cast of amazing donkeys including: Brant Miller, Jonas Goslow, and Nick Ryan. Directed by Katie Melby. Presented at the Kansas City, Edmonton, and Minnesota Fringe Festivals. Reprised at Fringe Favorites at the Southern Theatre in Minneapolis.
